9/11 CitizensWatch Joins Coalition to Support a Resolution of Inquiry into the Administration’s pre-Iraq War Deceptions and Urges Sponsors to Broaden the Examination to also include their Deceit and Misconduct Surrounding the 9/11 Attacks

Washington, D.C. (May 27, 2005) – In response to the recently leaked Downing Street memo documenting that the White House was tailoring facts and intelligence to sell its Iraq war policy as early as July 2002, a coalition of citizen groups representing millions of Americans has formed to seek a formal Congressional Inquiry into possible High Crimes and Misdemeanors committed by the President and his Administration. (The presentation of a formal Resolution of Inquiry to the House Judiciary Committee is the first step toward possible impeachment of U.S. officials.)

Re: Campaign For More C-Span Coverage

Filed under: Uncategorized — admin @ 9:33 am

[A civil letter writing and email campaign begun now could be effective in getting Griffin, Nafeez Ahmed and other critics of the 9/11 Commission on C-SPAN/Washington Journal by July 22 when the 1 year anniversary arrives. Please take a moment and follow on from the inspiration of Mr. Rattner of San Francisco by writing a letter or email of your own. -Ed.]

Dear CitizensWatch:

Attached is a letter which I have written to C-Span’s C.E.O., Brian Lamb, requesting more C-Span coverage of 911 Commission findings.

Please join me in asking C-Span to cover objections to the 9/11 Commission Report by Dr. David Ray Griffin.

Also, please circulate this suggestion to other interested groups and citizens.

WASHINGTON (May 24) – A former FBI whistle-blower who urged the agency to investigate terrorism suspect Zacarias Moussaoui in the weeks before Sept. 11, 2001, is considering a race for Congress in Minnesota.

Coleen Rowley told The Associated Press on Monday she will make a decision by early next month on whether to run as a Democrat against incumbent GOP Rep. John Kline in next year’s election.

The 9/11 Commission Report: A 571-Page Lie

Filed under: Uncategorized — admin @ 11:38 pm

Posted: 9/11 Visibility Project — Sunday, May 22, 2005

In discussing my second 9/11 book, The 9/11 Commission Report: Omissions and Distortions, I have often said, only half in jest, that a better title might have been “a 571-page lie.” (Actually, I was saying “a 567-page lie,” because I was forgetting to count the four pages of the Preface.) In making this statement, one of my points has been that the entire Report is constructed in support of one big lie: that the official story about 9/11 is true.

Charge Or Release!

Yet today, the post-9/11 era has come to symbolize opportunism and a time when civil liberties are placed in danger by ineffective government measures that do little to protect the nation, yet threaten our core values. The Charge or Release bill will restore some of those rights that have been needlessly lost.

When I graduated from Midwood High School a dozen years ago, the community surrounding it represented what is best about the city – the diversity of everyday living – something that was evident each time we ate at the diner at Flatbush Junction with its predominantly African American customers, or walked through the tree-lined streets of the Orthodox Jewish neighborhood, or caught the bus at Little Pakistan on Coney Island Avenue.

Conflicting Security Assessments Breed Suspicion of Govt Claims

Edward Herman, co-author of the books ”The Terrorism Industry”, ”The Real Terror Network”, and ”Manufacturing Consent”, told IPS ”all this demonstrates again and again that the so-called war on terrorism is political in nature, serving the political interests of those on the ‘right side’ of the terrorism issue.”

NEW YORK, May 16 (IPS) – U.S. intelligence and law enforcement officials say government steps have made it more difficult for terrorists to operate in the United States — even as leaders of an investigative panel assail Washington for moving too slowly to protect the nation and the Department of Homeland Security itself reveals it will scrap billions of dollars worth of hastily purchased equipment.

Some N.J. towns, counties are against law

Published in the Asbury Park Press 05/21/05

THE ASSOCIATED PRESS

NEWARK — As Congress considers whether to expand government powers to fight terrorism, 15 New Jersey municipalities and two counties are opposing portions of the USA Patriot Act, and state lawmakers are considering similar action.

New Brunswick on Wednesday joined the list of communities lined up against parts of the act, which expires at the end of the year and is up for renewal.

Officials in New Brunswick passed a resolution opposing portions of the law, “that may infringe on important civil liberties . . . including presumption of innocence, due process, legal counsel and probable cause (and) protection from unreasonable searches and seizures.”

Still Wondering Where NORAD Was On 9/11

Filed under: Uncategorized — admin @ 9:46 pm

Letter to the Editor

The Day – New London, CT — May 20, 2005

We had another off-course plane in Washington, D.C., on May 11. Two United States Air Force jets were in the air within minutes and escorted the plane down. That is exactly the way the North American Aerospace Defense Command (NORAD) was set up to protect America from malicious or terrorist planes.

On Sept. 11, 2001, American Airlines Flight 11 left Logan International Airport and went off course at 8:15 a.m. and failed to follow instructions at 8:20 a.m.

At 8:45 a.m., it crashed into the north tower of the World Trade Center. That’s 25 minutes.

I worry that I’m turning into a conspiracy theorist

By AL Kennedy — The Guardian

Wednesday May 11, 2005

OK, I’m paranoid and depressed. My new government of troglodytes, murderers and spivs barely elongates the customary scream I give upon waking. What troubles me more is our rulers’ inevitable recommencement of the war on terror bollocks.

To begin at what we’re told is the beginning, we have 9/11 – the one in the US, not the earlier one in Chile when covert US government intervention killed thousands of innocents and handed the country to a commerce-friendly, torture-loving, far-right junta. Now if 9/11/2001 is so important, why is it so hard to find out what happened?

The FBI, as we know, blocked all manner of investigations into the plot in the run up to its execution, whether these involved highly specific warnings from its own agents or from government sources in Afghanistan, Argentina, Britain, the Cayman Islands, Egypt, France, Germany, Israel, Italy, Jordan, Morocco and Russia.
