9/11 Widows Challenge Bush’s Nomination of Rice to State Despite Record of Incompetence and Deception over 9/11

Rewarding Incompetence

We strongly agree with President Bush’s decision to move Condoleezza Rice out of her position as National Security Advisor. Ms. Rice’s statement from her May 16, 2002 press briefing, “I don’t think anybody could have predicted that these people would try to use an airplane as a missile, a hijacked airplane as a missile” made it clear that she was ill equipped to be advising anyone on matters of national security. Condoleezza Rice was the top National Security official with President Bush at the July 2001 G-8 summit in Genoa. This was where “U.S. officials were warned that Islamic terrorists might attempt to crash an airliner into the summit, which prompted officials to close the airspace over Genoa and station anti-aircraft guns at the city’s airport.”

And Ms. Rice’s failures did not stop there.

New Book on Eve of National Book Awards Shreds Credibility of Kean/Zelikow Report

Filed under: Uncategorized — admin @ 5:55 am

JUST ARRIVED AT THE PUBLISHERS WAREHOUSE!

The Commission Report: Omissions and Distortions — A Critique of the Kean-Zelikow Report

By David Ray Griffin

“With this new book, David Ray Griffin establishes himself, alongside Seymour Hersh, as America’s number one bearer of unpleasant, yet necessary, public truths.”–Richard Falk, Professor of International Law, Emeritus, Princeton University

Griffin shows that the final report of the 9/11 Commission, far from being the definitive account of 9/11 it was supposed to be, is riddled with omissions and distortions. Rather than genuinely asking how the attacks were able to succeed, the Commission merely defended the account provided by the Bush administration and its Pentagon. Any evidence that challenged this account–by suggesting instead that the attacks were enabled by the Bush administration itself–was either distorted or simply omitted.

“In this masterful sequel to The New Pearl Harbor, David Ray Griffin unveils a disparity between official 9/11 “spin” and independently researched 9/11 fact so glaring as to suggest the possibility of a constitutional crisis unlike anything our country has ever known. . . . [This book] seriously–and alarmingly–challenges the independence, impartiality, and thoroughness of the 9/11 Commission.”–Burns H. Weston, Professor of Law Emeritus, University of Iowa

“David is a national treasure. His first book was great. This book . . . is even better.”–Meria Heller (www.Meria.net)

Open Letter to Larry Silverstein, WTC Lease Holder, re. Building no. 7

Dear Mr. Silverstein,

A secretary at your office suggested that I put this request in writing.

Would you please clarify the comments you made regarding WTC-7? In a PBS documentary aired last year, you stated:

“I remember getting a call from the fire department commander, telling me that they were not sure they were gonna be able to contain the fire, and I said, ‘We’ve had such terrible loss of life, maybe the smartest thing to do is pull it.’ And they made that decision to pull and we watched the building collapse.”

BREAKING: 9/11 Whistleblower Challenges Official Story on WTC Disaster

Filed under: Uncategorized — admin @ 9:34 am

Following a series of cable news network programs (Countdown with Keith Olbermann, AndersonCooper360) attempting to discredit those raising the specter that the WTC complex buildings may have be brought down by something other than fire, an Underwriters Laboratories (UL) Executive has written a stunning email challenging the thus far largely accepted theory. This on the eve of a brewing controversy over whether portions of the next NIST hearing on November 22nd in Gaithersberg, Maryland will be closed to the public or not.

“If steel from those buildings did soften or melt, I’m sure we can all agree that this was certainly not due to jet fuel fires of any kind, let alone the briefly burning fires in those towers.”

–Excerpt from Kevin Ryan’s email to Frank Gayle, Deputy Chief of the Metallurgy Division at the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST)

Skyscraper Safety Campaign Calls for Public NIST Hearings on WTC Collapses

Filed under: Uncategorized — admin @ 4:22 am

For Immediate Release:

11/12/04

Below is a letter which was sent on behalf of Skyscraper Safety Campaign (SSC) to the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) today. This also relates to an article that appeared in 11/12/04 edition of the NY Times (Unit Plans Closed Hearings on Collapse of the Towers By Jim Dwyer).

The NIST investigation into the collapse of the WTC was initiated two years ago in large part due to the efforts of the family members and others who comprise the Skyscraper Safety Campaign (SSC). The SSC has been monitoring this investigation since its inception. The purpose of this investigation was to find out how and why the WTC collapsed. The mandate was to uncover the deadly mistakes, initiate change and create true reform to building codes, building practices, evacuation techniques, and emergency response protocols.

How The 9/11 Commission Report defrauds the nation

Posted on Friday, November 12, 2004. Originally from October 2004. By Benjamin DeMott.

The promise was not kept. The plain, sad reality—I report this following four full days studying the work—is that The 9/11 Commission Report, despite the vast quantity of labor behind it, is a cheat and a fraud. It stands as a series of evasive maneuvers that infantilize the audience, transform candor into iniquity, and conceal realities that demand immediate inspection and confrontation. Because it is continuously engaged in scotching all attempts to distinguish better from worse leadership responses, the Commission can’t discharge its duty to educate the audience about the habits of mind and temperament essential in those chosen to discharge command responsibility during crises.

Iraq: the unthinkable becomes normal.

New Statesman, November 15, 2004

http://www.informationclearinghouse.info/article7274.htm

[snip]

Flying into Philadelphia recently, I spotted the Kean congressional report on 11 September from the 9/11 Commission on sale at the bookstalls. “How many do you sell?” I asked. “One or two,” was the reply. “It’ll disappear soon.” Yet, this modest, blue-covered book is a revelation. Like the Butler report in the UK, which detailed all the incriminating evidence of Blair’s massaging of intelligence before the invasion of Iraq, then pulled its punches and concluded nobody was responsible, so the Kean report makes excruciatingly clear what really happened, then fails to draw the conclusions that stare it in the face. It is a supreme act of normalising the unthinkable. This is not surprising, as the conclusions are volcanic.

911 Commissioner Kerrey hits Bush and Co hard over pre-9/11 inaction?

Filed under: Uncategorized — admin @ 12:39 am

KERREY: [snip] …by the way, there’s a credible case that the president’s own negligence prior to 9/11 at least in part contributed to the disaster in the first place.

ZAHN: How so?

KERREY: Well, the 9/11 report says in chapter eight — now that it’s beyond the campaign, so the promise I had to keep this out of the campaign is over.

The 9/11 report in chapter eight says that, in the summer of 2001, the government ignored repeated warnings by the CIA, ignored, and didn’t do anything to harden our border security, didn’t do anything to harden airport country, didn’t do anything to engage local law enforcement, didn’t do anything to round up INS and consular offices and say we have to shut this down, and didn’t warn the American people.

Part of 9/11 Report Remains Unreleased; An Inquiry Is Begun

Filed under: Uncategorized — admin @ 1:01 am

By JIM DWYER

October 30, 2004 — The New York Times

One last chapter of the investigation by the Sept. 11 commission, a supplement completed more than two months ago, has not yet been made public by the Justice Department, and officials say it is unlikely to be released before the presidential election, even though that had been a major goal of deadlines set for the panel.

Drawing from this unpublished part of the inquiry, the commission quietly asked the inspectors general at the Departments of Defense and Transportation to review what it had determined were broadly inaccurate accounts provided by several civil and military officials about efforts to track and chase the hijacked aircraft on Sept. 11.

Day of the Dead: The Haunting of the White House

Filed under: Uncategorized — admin @ 8:38 am

Dear Readers,

We are pleased on this evening of Nov. 1st to 2nd, known in Mexico as “The Day of the Dead,” to publish the following exclusive: a Republican-meets-Democrat one-two punch editorial by Cynthia McKinney and Catherine Austin Fitts, on “The Haunting of the White House.” An earlier version of the piece was written after a request by editors of The New York Times. The Times has so far declined to publish it. Other print publications are still considering it. But you can feel free to forward it to the nine winds, with our thanks.

Sincerely,

911Truth.org Staff
