Goals of 9/11 Citizens Watch
We intend to advance effective
initiatives, open research (such as the Complete
9/11 Timeline), lobbying and very specific lines of inquiry that
include scores of unanswered questions.
Specifically,
the goals of this independent oversight body include:
| 1. | Examining the Commission legislation for inherent limitations of scope or power. |
| 2. |
Reviewing the Joint House/Senate Intelligence report and the Shelby minority report. |
| 3. |
Framing focused questions and championing key lines of inquiry as expressed by the public and 9/11 families |
| 4. | Bringing these questions and related resources forward to the Commission in order that they be fully and openly addressed. |
| 5. | If not addressed adequately, supporting a parallel Truth Commission |
| 6. | Establishing “The Canary Project” to encourage and protect whistleblowers |

9/11 CitizensWatch is a citizen-led watchdog network established to support independent investigation, research and analysis into the attacks of September 11th and its political and economic aftermath.
9/11 CitizensWatch will be supported and guided by the
9/11 Families Advisory Group and an increasingly active network of researchers,
scholars, investigative journalists and concerned citizens. Together
we will champion the most vital lines of unresolved inquiry.
The
Prospect of a formal Citizens’ Investigation
Given the inherent limitations of the 9/11 Commission, their refusal to examine key lines of inquiry and the interest there is a strong case for the need to fully Citizens’ Truth Commission on 9/11. These questions, lines of inquiry and
the body of supporting research are a collective product of a growing and
diverse network of researchers and investigative journalists. Supported
by a blue-ribbon international panel devoid of potentially
compromising
government or corporate ties, this network can effectively conduct
its own thorough and fully transparent investigation of one of
the most pivotal events and tragedies in history.
Which way the world turns and whether or not
we see an end to terror may well depend upon us finding the truth about
9/11!
We will act as if it does!
Underlying imperative
The
underlying imperative is restoring the people’s faith in their
own voice and in those they have elected to serve them in representational
government (public integrity); and ultimately simply in, the truth.
A broad context and deep analysis
We can only fully understand the events of 9/11 and the growing threat
of terrorism in the broader context and deeper understanding grounded
in the history, geo-politics and global economic trends since the
end of the Cold War era. Any investigation of 9/11 must grapple with
bigger questions and hidden forces.
Areas of Inquiry
9/11 CitizensWatch identifies several critical aspects of inquiry for further investigation. Key areas of inquiry include among numerous others:
| 1. | Intelligence warnings and indications of advance knowledge. |
| 2. | Official deception or misrepresentation. |
| 3. | Lack of accountability & the problem of rewarding failure/incompetence. |
| 4. | Inherent inconsistencies and anomalies in the‘official story.’ |
| 5. | Obstruction or undermining of pre-attack terrorist investigatons. |
| 6. | The Bin Laden Family, Al-Qeada and the Hijackers. |
| 7. | Pakistani (ISI) connection. |
| 8. | Government delay and obstruction of post-9/11 investigations. |
